The Pennsylvania Department of Education offers two different testing options for individuals seeking certification for secondary education completion requirements.

GEd® TEST

The GED® test is a computer based test consisting of four modules:

  • Reading Language Arts

  • Mathematics

  • Science

  • Social Studies

Each module costs $30.00 for a total of $120 for the entire bundle.

THE HISET® TEST

The HiSET® test is a paper based test consisting of five modules:

  • Language Arts – Reading

  • Language Arts – Writing

  • Mathematics

  • Science

  • Social Studies

Each module costs $18.00 for a total of $90 for the entire bundle.

Transcript and Diploma Procedures for HiSET® & GED® Certifications

All Pennsylvania high school equivalency diplomas and transcripts for the GED test, HiSET exam,
