Program Description: The nature of interactions between members of a group or organization is a key factor in defining the work climate of that organization or group. This module examines how supervisor-employee and employee-employee interactions affect climate and performance. It also introduces three skill areas that are critical to developing and maintaining positive, effective interactions: respectful communication, dealing with difficult behavior in others, and controlling workplace stress. Opportunities for self and situational analysis are included with a focus on developing action ideas helpful in creating work climates that support individual, group and organization success.

This series of interactive workshops are designed for participants who want to explore topics that will help in their workplaces, careers and personal life, and are taught by Penn State professionals who have their pulse on what is needed in today's work environment. In partnership with Workforce Alliance, Penn State Scranton will begin the workshops in January 2022. The successful completion of these workshops plus 10 additional workshops can lead to the obtainment of a Penn State Supervision Essentials non-credit certificate.
