Honesdale CareerLink Moves To New Location

The PA CareerLink services in Honesdale has moved to a new home on Park Street starting today. Earlier this year, the Wayne Pike Workforce Alliance won the regional contract to provide the PA CareerLink services that includes bringing together workers, employers and training opportunities as well as assisting with unemployment compensation requirements, in partnership with the state. An Open House has been scheduled for Friday with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 am. Light refreshments will be served.
The Wayne Pike Workforce Alliance is also planning a Fall Career Fair in the Park Street Complex Cafeteria Nov. 1, from 3 to 7 pm. The event is free for employers and for job seekers, but vendor space is limited and businesses must register by tomorrow by calling 570-390-7613 or email workforce@wpworkforce.org .
Stourbridge Project Named Economic Development Project Of The Year
During its annual fall conference, the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association honored The Stourbridge Project among other organizations across the state for their demonstration of outstanding accomplishments in economic development.

During its annual fall conference, the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association honored The Stourbridge Project among other organizations across the state for their demonstration of outstanding accomplishments in economic development. Located in Honesdale, the Stourbridge Project was recognized as project of the year. Executive Director of WEDCO (Wayne Economic Development Corporation) Mary Beth Wood, says it was designed to drive investment in the infrastructure, talent, development, and programming essential to grow the professional and technical services businesses and job opportunities in the rural Wayne County Community. Outside of annual operating funds, grant and local match investments for this project exceeded $1.95M, which was secured from a variety of sources.
