Lending a Hand, Lifting a Community
There are always people looking for ways to make our community better, so we have decided to create a Wayne County Volunteer Databank! This year, there is a particular urgency to identify volunteer opportunities for able-bodied adults who need volunteer hours to maintain their medical insurance (Medicaid), while also supporting the organizations and services that strengthen our community.
Volunteer opportunities can include anything from cleaning offices, buildings, and streets to watching children and shelving books; from answering phones and managing social media to raking leaves and painting walls; from ongoing assignments to special events. You will have the opportunity to review volunteers before they begin, and you may end the placement at any time. The level of supervision is entirely up to you. All that is required is completing a simple form estimating the number of hours the volunteer worked during a week or month.
Once we establish the databank, we can make it available online and continue to grow it. With your help, we can create a centralized resource for volunteer opportunities throughout Wayne County while helping address an immediate community need. Let's get started!
Together, we can lend a hand and lift our community.
